Jesus emptied himself for the sake of the world. He knew he was going to be ridiculed, mocked, and even cruxified. He made people angry because he didn’t go along with the norm…what everyone told him he should believe or act. Jesus knew who he was—he was the son of God in human form who came to share the good news of redemption to all who would listen—and he never looked at himself as equal to God. Jesus knew that the kingdom of God was more important than his life and showed us that serving others was far more important than serving himself. Watching Jesus, we can learn how to be courageous while being vulnerable.
